Virtual Visit Opportunities

Virtual events from mid-September through early December are now available. 

Review the chronological list below to browse available virtual opportunities. Note that the times listed below are in Eastern Time; please coordinate with the time zone of your location.

Information Sessions are offered weekly and alternate between 4:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 10:00 a.m. on Fridays. Families are welcome to attend with their students.

Columbia Engineering Information Sessions focus on the academics, research opportunities and student life at Columbia Engineering specifically. Families are welcome to attend with their students. Two Columbia Engineering information sessions will be held in the fall:

  • Wednesday, October 23, 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 20, 4:00 p.m.

Financial Aid Information Sessions are offered monthly. Families are welcome to attend with their students. Four financial aid information sessions, including one conducted in Spanish, will be held in the fall:

  • Thursday, September 12, 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 10, 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 17, 6:00 p.m. in Spanish
  • Thursday, November 7, 6:00 p.m.

Student Q&A Chats on a wide variety of topics are offered weekly at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays. Student Q&A chats specifically about the experience of international students on campus will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, and Saturday, November 23. Student Q&A chats are intended just for prospective students.

Panels on the experiences of different communities on campus are held periodically. Panels are intended just for prospective students. Six panels will be held in the fall:

  • Engineering Students at Columbia, Thursday, September 26, 4:00 p.m.
  • Rural and Small-Town Students at Columbia, Thursday, October 3, 4:00 p.m.
  • First-Generation and Low-Income Students at Columbia, Thursday, October 10, 4:00 p.m.
  • Columbia Religious Life, Monday, October 28, 4:00 p.m.
  • Columbia/Barnard Hillel, Tuesday, October 29, 4:00 p.m.
  • Students of Color at Columbia, Thursday, December 5, 4:00 p.m.
An Application Advice Session for Regular Decision applicants will be held on Friday, December 6, at 5:00 p.m. This event, intended just for students considering Regular Decision, will cover tips for finalizing your application, advice from current Columbia students and answers to frequently asked questions.

Our interactive virtual tour covers Columbia academics and student life through 360° photos of campus facilities, embedded media to explore topics further and immersive video featuring current students and faculty.
