Columbia Summer Science Preview

You are invited to join us on campus for our annual Columbia Summer Science Preview on Monday, July 31, 2017. This event is designed for rising high school seniors and juniors to learn what's distinctive about studying mathematics and the natural sciences at Columbia College.

The following is a tentative schedule for the Summer Science Preview:
 

12:00 p.m.	*Check-in and Undergraduate Science Research Symposium
1:00 p.m.	Welcome and Introduction to Science at Columbia College
2:00 p.m.	The Scientist’s Admissions Process (for students) Supporting Your Student (for families and guests)
3:00 p.m.	Master Classes led by Science Faculty
4:00 p.m.	Undergraduate and Alumni Scientist Panel
5:00 p.m.	Optional Northwest Corner Building Lab Visits

*Check-in will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Broadway entrance to Lerner Hall, between 114th and 115th Streets. During this time, guests are welcome to attend the Undergraduate Research Symposium. The program will officially begin at 1:00 p.m. and conclude around 5:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

If this is your first time visiting our campus, you may wish to attend our general information session and student-led campus tour before the program from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. respectively. Please visit the Information Sessions and Campus Tours page for more information and to register; you must register for either or both the information session and campus tour separately from the Columbia Summer Science Preview.

Unfortunately, given the high number of prospective students who wish to visit campus, we do not have the ability to provide funding to attend this program.
